This week’s topic is “Remote Work and Communication”. As you all know, communication is the key to remote work. However, with the current COVID-19 crisis many new remote workers reported having a hard time adjusting to online meetings and effective brainstorm sessions, while at the same time fighting the loneliness of not having daily face time with coworkers.
We at Xoxzo have been working remotely since inception. It was just our way of life. Remote work was a very narrow niche, a lifestyle choice and a sound business model where our team, made of members from different corners of the globe, came together to build and operate telephony services among other things.
Remote work doesn’t only have pros, there are also cons that you eventually come to realize. Some remote workers miss socializing with coworkers, others may struggle to keep work and private life separate. This list was made including struggles that I and other teleworkers I know have experienced at some point, and also included some tips on how to overcome them.
Some people wonder, what is it really like to work remotely? In this part 1 out of 2 discussing the pros and cons of remote work, I will first talk about the pros that I experienced while working from home.
We are a group of remote workers from different areas of expertise and different areas of the world getting together to bring you honest, realistic, and empowering resources to achieve a more balanced work-life.
